Plumbing is one of the most competitive local searches there is — blocked drains, hot water, burst pipes, all urgent, all searched on a phone. That makes the website less of a brochure and more of a working tool, and it's worth understanding what you're paying for.

What drives the price up

  1. Service pages. Blocked drains, hot water, burst pipes, leak detection, gas fitting, bathroom renovations, backflow, roof plumbing — each needs its own page and its own copy.
  2. Emergency positioning. Sticky call bars, clear hours, honest call-out fees.
  3. Service areas. More suburbs done properly means more pages.
  4. Copywriting. The single most common thing left out of a cheap quote.
  5. Photography. Before-and-after drain and bathroom work is worth having.
  6. Commercial work. A second audience with different needs.

Plumbing enquiries are urgent and almost always made on a phone — that's what the build has to be designed around.

The cheap quote trap

A $600 website that you have to write yourself, that nobody maintains, and that quietly stops sending enquiries in eight months is not cheap. Ask three questions of any quote: who writes the content, who fixes it when it breaks, and what changes cost afterwards.

What a plumbing website has to do

  • Load fast on mobile data.
  • Show a tap-to-call number before anything else.
  • Have a real page for each service you want more of.
  • State your licence, insurance and after-hours availability.
  • Name the suburbs you cover.
  • Show your own work and genuine reviews.

Common questions

Is it cheaper to build it myself?
In dollars, yes. In hours, usually not — and DIY sites tend to stall at a home page and a contact form, which is exactly the structure that doesn't get found.
What ongoing costs should I expect?
Hosting, domain renewal, platform or plugin subscriptions, and changes. Get all four in writing before you commit, whichever way you build.
